Make Sure You're Looking at the Whole Vocal Picture...

.

Your VOICE is the one part of you that can reach out & actually “touch” someone—without physically touching them at all. Your VOICE can truly IMPACT others, as it is the vehicle through which you carry your very important message out to the world. And more important than the message, is the VOICE that carries it because before processing the words, your listener has subconsciously processed the meaning behind your VOICE & its connection to them. It is your audible business card, it is your authentic instrument that you take everywhere you go—& you are responsible for its care, health, use, & quality.

.

.

You use your voice at home, at work, when you’re in loud environments, when you sing in your car, when you’re emotional, when you’re calling in your dogs, when you’re leading a meeting, & when you’re teaching a class. You use that same vocal instrument with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, & with complete strangers. Your voice is an instrument that rarely gets a rest & its function & efficiency are affected by many things (emotions, medications, illnesses, weather, hydration, diet, sleep, stress, tension, etc.). Despite all this, it is absolutely necessary that your voice is reliable because it constantly represents who you are to all who you come into contact with—whether your goals are to inspire, teach, lead, guide, sell, create music, or share love.

.

.

If you ever wonder why your voice SOUNDS like it does or FEELS like it does, consider what may have led to its current status…consider all the EXTRA voice use you may unknowingly demand of that delicate & beautiful instrument daily on top of what you expect it to “perform” perfectly for (that performance, that class, that interview, etc.)…

.

.

So if you want to ensure your audible business card is in its optimal condition to represent you well for an upcoming audition, performance, work engagement, or presentation—or just when you want to share your truth with the world—make sure you are looking at the WHOLE VOCAL PICTURE! Prioritize your vocal health, identify ways to reduce the daily wear & tear on your voice, practice efficient voice use, & proactively protect your instrument.
