CALLING ALL TEACHERS!! Recruitment for Our Upcoming Research Studies!
CALLING ALL TEACHERS!!!!
This is a special blog post dedicated to providing information related to recruitment for our upcoming research studies...
Read on and please SPREAD THE WORD!!
I am REALLY EXCITED to spread the word that my next RESEARCH STUDY is starting, this time in collaboration with a colleague of mine, @scharns… and focused on an incredibly important population of occupational voice users, TEACHERS!!!!
.
.
We will actually be completing TWO studies this Spring (on teachers), the first of which begins TODAY and is a survey open to ALL teachers who teach preschool/kindergarten, primary/elementary school, secondary/middle school, and/or high school students. Our studies will exclude college teachers/professors at this time. Stay tuned for more info coming in a few months on our second study, but for now please participate in and/or spread the word about our first study.
.
.
The survey is simple and should take only four to five minutes (max!) of your time; your participation will REALLY help us in learning about the perceptions of teachers (relative to their VOICE and OCCUPATION), obtaining important data to guide future interventions, and assist us in developing further outreach and education for this population of occupational voice users that is near and dear to our hearts.
.
.
Aside from several patients and clients that we have that are teachers, my mom is a teacher of over 30 years and I have other family members and close friends who are teachers as well. We all can remember our favorite teacher! Where would we be without our teachers? Let’s help them out!
.
.
I also strongly believe that this population of occupational voice users receives minimal (if any!) training on vocal health/wellness, vocal efficiency, and/or vocal dynamics (unless, of course, if/when something goes “wrong”). Teachers are at high risk for voice disorders (and this is backed by extensive research), and they are expected to use their voice in a projected manner for often more than eight hours a day. Additionally, it is challenging for teachers to attend voice therapy because it is often during their exact work hours and many teachers cannot obtain adequate water intake because they are unable to use the restroom throughout the day as they need because they’re in charge of 30+ students. Their vocal demands and vocal load are high and constant, and other than the summers there is minimal time for rest or recalibration.
.
.
I strongly believe that we CAN SUPPORT this large group of occupational voice users, ENHANCE their voice-related knowledge, TEACH them tools to OPTIMIZE THEIR VOCAL INSTRUMENT and PREVENT voice-related challenges, and ENHANCE their vocal function (quality, endurance, reliability) to positively IMPACT CAREER LONGEVITY.

PLEASE click THIS LINK OR the LINK in my bio (on @voxfit_ instagram) OR the LINK on linktree HERE to complete the survey. Also PLEASE pass on the link (and any of the ways to get to it!) to all and any teachers you know that fall within these guidelines. Feel free to also post on social media or email the link to your school list and any friends or family that are teachers. The link will only be open until February 18 so please fill out the survey (if you are a teacher), and spread the word.

Thank you again so much and we are so grateful for your participation and support!!!

PYV: Anddd of course, always REMEMBER to PRIORITIZE YOUR VOICE! ...
How are YOU prioritizing your voice today? And everyday? As an OCCUPATIONAL VOICE USER, it SHOULD be one of your top priorities!
.
What do you need to know to keep your voice healthy? You should understand how the voice works, how to protect and care for your voice, and how to use your voice and entire vocal mechanism in the most efficient, effective, and dynamic ways possible.
.
.
I’m super PASSIONATE about this population of voice users (I’m one and most of you are too!), and am HERE TO HELP! Reach out with any questions, concerns, or if you’d like to work together. Email me at [email protected] or DM me on @voxfit_ ...
